Fire Emblem/Hetalia: Axis Powers crossover.
The epitome of geekiness.
I started watching Hetalia late last year. My friends
always loved it thus sparking up my interest, and I'd been meaning to check it out for years. I had no idea it would be so much to my liking. Like yeah, it's pretty irreverent...IDK, this anime is just something I really find myself enjoying. As soon as I started watching the episodes I decided to draw fanart, so I doodled a few of my favorite characters but really wanted to come up with something original. I can't remember how this idea came to me, but when it did I knew it would end up being one of my favorite art projects. And it is; I just had so much fun working on this whole thing- deciding which Fire Emblem characters to use and how to portray/line them up, giving the background that stained parchment look, adding details reminiscent of both Fire Emblem and Hetalia...
Yeah, Marth is supposed to be like Italy. Because when me and my brothers used to play Smash Bros Brawl literally all day every day and we'd voice the characters as we played, we always portrayed Marth as this whimpy, feminine,
, over-affectionate outcast, and that's basically what Italy is. We portrayed Marth and Ike as having a relationship very identical to Italy and Germany's and so I initially wanted to have Ike and Marth by each other in the line, but looks-wise, Hector totally reminds me of Germany, so I decided to put him by Marth. Either way the same thing is being conveyed here.
Chrom is down in that little frame thing, like the ones in the Hetalia theme song that appear throughout the song with characters in them- just felt like clarifying in case anyone thought it looked like he was there because I wanted him in the picture but didn't have enough room in the line.
It almost looks that way-ish to me, so, yeah.
I tend to ramble in my artist's comments, so I think I'll be done doing that for this deviation. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this one; it was so fun to work on.^^
